How To Re-Ink Your Ink Pads

Standard

I hate it when I’m in the middle of making a card, a scrapbook page, or teaching a class and finding out the ink pad I’m getting ready to use is dried out.  So, from now on I’m going to re-ink my pads on the first day of each month!

Here’s how to re-ink your Stampin’ Up Ink Pads.

1.  You want to make sure the whole surface of the ink pad gets inked without over-inking it, so start at the top right-hand corner and make about a 2 inch wide zig-zag line all the way down to the left-hand corner.  Just barely squeeze the re-inker bottle so you don’t overload the pad.

2. Start at the upper left-hand corner and do the same thing.

3. If your ink pad is really dry, start at the middle of the top and zig-zag down to the bottom of the pad, and then back up to the top, again applying slight pressure to the re-inker bottle.

4. Then close the lid of the ink pad and set it aside to allow the ink to absorb.  It usually takes around 20 – 25 minutes, but then it’s as good as new!

You should always get the re-inker whenever you buy a stamp pad.  All of Stampin’ Up’s Ink Pads have the same color re-inkers.  As you re-fill your ink pads, make note of which colors you need more of so you can order more before they run out!
