The challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp is to get inspiration from a Fairy Tale or Nursery Rhyme. When I was teaching, I loved to read Fairy Tales by the Grimm Brothers to my students and The Willow-Wren and the Bear was one of my favorites.
So, I had to use my Bird Builder Punch once again! (If you are new to my website and you look around, you will see that I love birds!) The Early Espresso Card Stock represents the bear, the red button-the fox, the vintage trim – the queen, and the bird-the King of the Birds. I even used a fancy flourish to represent the kingdom. I’ve made cards like this before in different colors, but this one is my favorite because there’s an underlying story behind it! Hope you like it as much as I do. this was such a fun challenge!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Terry
This is the card I’m entering in the Cards & Things Challenge this week. The card was made with Very Vanilla Card Stock
. I layered a piece of Tangerine Tango CS
, which was embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder
, on the front of the card. I cut out a piece of First Edition Specialty Paper
with the Top Note Bigz Die
, cut off the right side of it, sponged the edges with Tangerine Tango Ink
, and adhered it to the card front. The bird, the bird’s wing and the branch were all punched out using the Build a Bird Punch
. They were adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals
. Happy Birthday was stamped on a small piece of the First Edition Specialty Paper and was cut out with scissors. Last, I added a piece of Victoria Crochet Trim and a button to match. All products, except the button, are Stampin’ Up!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day. Terry
I know. I’ve been really slow in posting the cards from my card classes and I’m sorry. I will try to do better! I’ve been so busy with classes, kits, John Sanpietro’s stamping classes, and family that there’s not enough time in the day to get everything done. I’m really enjoying my 4 grandchildren that live in the area this summer before I go to Maine to visit the 3 that live there.
Here is one of the cards from a class I did last week. It is made using the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die (114507), the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die (118123), First Editions Specialty Paper (121878), and Crumb Cake Cardstock (120953). You can order these supplies by clicking on the “Order Stampin’ Up! On-line Button” in the right-hand column.
Please leave me a comment…I love reading them! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day. Terry
