The challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp is to get inspiration from a Fairy Tale or Nursery Rhyme. When I was teaching, I loved to read Fairy Tales by the Grimm Brothers to my students and The Willow-Wren and the Bear was one of my favorites.
So, I had to use my Bird Builder Punch once again! (If you are new to my website and you look around, you will see that I love birds!) The Early Espresso Card Stock represents the bear, the red button-the fox, the vintage trim – the queen, and the bird-the King of the Birds. I even used a fancy flourish to represent the kingdom. I’ve made cards like this before in different colors, but this one is my favorite because there’s an underlying story behind it! Hope you like it as much as I do. this was such a fun challenge!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Terry
Have you been wondering where I’ve been? I’ve just been working on projects all week, but didn’t post them! I will be posting them this week. Here’s the first one.
I don’t just make cards and scrapbooks. I love all kinds of crafts and one of my favorites is making shadow boxes…especially when they are representative of me. I feel this is another way to leave my children and grandchildren parts of my life in addition to scrapbooks and they are so much fun to make!
I love the grunge-look, as well, so when I started seeing these made with Tim Holtz products, I had to make some. This particular one was inspired by one I’d seen before. I love to travel, love vintage ephemera, vintage trinkets, and love airplanes. I’m 57, my life has been one journey after another and there are many more to come!
I’ve already started on a second one, which is bigger than this one and I’m integrating Stampin’ Up! products in it! I hope to do a class with one of these soon.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day. Terry
Here are 3 of the cards from Monday’s class. Someone (I won’t mention any names…she knows who she is!) accidently to my other card home with her so it won’t be posted today.
This is one of my all time favorites! The background paper is from the First Edition Designer Series Paper Pack, which is offered in the Occasions Mini Catolog. I love the look of it when it’s destressed and inked. The sentiment is stamped on the Four Frames Stamp Set which is a special purchase right now. It will be included in the new catalog coming out in July. It goes with the Decorative Label Punch (also offered in the Occasions Mini Catalog.). I know I’ll be using this set a lot!
Hi Everyone! Hope you all are having a great week so far. The weather is beautiful today and I’m getting ready to go sit outside and read for about an hour or so, before getting started on more cards!
Here are the 4 cards from Monday’s class at Hobby Lobby. If you were not able to make it, but would like the kits, just let me know.
